In 1998 Prudence was serving as U.S. Ambassador in Nairobi, Kenya when the American embassy was bombed. This is her personal account of not just the event but also, the ripple effect that evolved out of the incident and our national response to it.  We are suffering the ongoing effects of this particular incident today.
